A lot has happened this year, and I obviously haven't done the best job of updating the blog on, well, anything. So here it is, the update, in no particular order:
Julian is about to complete his intern year of residency. It was hard, but that was expected.
We bought a house in November. We've settled in quite nicely and love it and the neighborhood. I don't know that the neighbors love our lawn very much. I know I hate it! It's more weed than lawn.
I'm still teaching dual-language kinder. I love the kinder part and am still iffy on the dual-language. It is a lot of fun to hear the kids speaking in Spanish when they didn't know any at the beginning of the year. The highest group is slowly starting to come out of the silent phase of language acquisition. It's amazing how much they all understand though!
Next year, kinder and first grade will be full immersion so I will hardly be saying a word in English all day. The kids are supposed to think I may not even speak English, which will be interesting. The idea is that they will try harder to communicate in Spanish if I don't give them an easy way out by responding in English.
Well, those are the biggies I guess. I figure I don't have to write everything in one big post or else I might not write for another year : )
